It all began in 1984, when Carlos Tavares, at just 16 years old, found his first adventure companion: Flecha. A unique mare, who followed every gesture and command with remarkable trust and devotion.
In 2009, the passion for horses was rekindled with the acquisition of Zooleica, a palomino cross mare that marked the beginning of a new chapter. At our house, she left seven descendants.
Iola, the first Purebred Lusitano filly of the stud farm, arrived in 2016 and won everyone over from the very first day with her sweetness. This mare marks the beginning of a new project and becomes the matriarch of the stud farm.
The passion for breeding Lusitano lines grew stronger, and in 2017, Brandy was acquired. A grey 11-year-old mare ready for breeding.
In 2019, Carlos Tavares Stud Farm was officially founded, dedicated exclusively to the breeding of Purebred Lusitano horses.
The colt Quinocha inaugurated the trophy shelf in 2022 , being crowned Champion of Champions na feira Agrovouga'22 em Aveiro.
In 2023, the Stud Farm became member no. 601 of the APSL (Portuguese Lusitano Horse Breeders Association).
